There has to be a better way.

Neusonian Institute began on the Neuse River and grew out of years of watching good people lose time to bad tools.

A note from our founder

I was raised by my grandfather, working and living on the Neuse River. It was on that river that he taught me how to see the patterns and the rhythm of the water: how to read it for sandbars, how to count the waves to know when to turn the boat, and how to read its color for a coming storm. These were lessons that no book could teach. They had to be learned through experience.

Later I spent 22 years in law enforcement, much of it on the records, training, and administration side, and then transitioned to teaching in a middle school classroom. Those are two very different jobs with one thing in common: bad tools waste time every day. The work itself was rarely the problem. The systems were. Hours that should have gone to people went to working around software that wasn't built for the people using it.

By using the lessons taught to me by my grandfather, I started looking for better solutions to these problems. Bad systems have patterns too, the same way a river does, if you know how to look for them.

It was from that current that Neusonian took shape. Along the way, I started to realize that too many brilliant people miss their destiny because they don't fit a mold. Too many ideas die before they are born because they never find an opportunity. So at Neusonian, we look at the person and what they can bring, not where they went to school or what their résumé says.

It is through all of those experiences, ours and those of the people we bring together, that we create new solutions.

How Neusonian grows

Neusonian grows like a tree. The institute is the trunk. Everything we make comes from it, but not everything stays attached.

Neusonian drawn as a tree A tree trunk labeled Neusonian with branches labeled Vitki Dev and VAHI and room for more branches. Its roots run underground to a separate young tree, grown by one of our people, labeled Its own name, with room for more sprouts. Shared roots Vitki Dev VAHI Neusonian Its own name
  • The trunk

Neusonian Institute, the part that stays. It keeps our culture and gives every idea what it needs to grow: training, tools, and the freedom to try, fail, and try again.

  • The branches

Product lines that branch off the trunk and stay part of it. Vitki Dev and VAHI are the first, with more to come as they're ready.

  • The root sprouts

Some ideas are nurtured and grown by our people. They take the lessons and culture they learned at Neusonian and set out on their own adventures, with their own names. They share our roots, not our name.
